Day-by-Day Schedule

01

Arrival in Tbilisi

Arrive at Tbilisi International Airport (500m / 1,640ft), where our team will meet you and transfer you to your hotel. In the evening, you’ll join the group for an equipment check, meet your guides, and receive a full briefing about the Chaukhi mountaineering training camp. A welcome dinner sets the tone for the journey ahead. Overnight in Tbilisi.
02

Trek to Chaukhi Base Camp

After breakfast, we depart for a 4-hour drive to Juta village (2,200m / 7,218ft). From there, a short scenic trek takes us to Chaukhi Base Camp (2,500m / 8,202ft), your alpine home for the week. After setting up tents and settling in, we prepare for the days of technical training ahead. Overnight at Base Camp.
03

First Training Day

We begin the mountaineering training program with a full day focused on core alpine skills. Instruction includes rope systems, belaying techniques, knot work, and ice axe arrest. You’ll gain hands-on experience on natural rock and snow terrain surrounding the Chaukhi alpine base camp. Overnight in tents.
04

Summit Day 1

An early breakfast at 05:00 sets us up for a 06:00 start. Today’s goal is your first alpine summit — an easy peak graded French “F” or Russian 2A–2B. The round-trip climb takes approximately 5–6 hours and gives you your first exposure to real alpine movement. We return to Base Camp for dinner and overnight.
05

Second Training Day

Back at Base Camp, we continue our training with a deeper focus on crampon technique, safety on mixed ground, and top-rope climbing systems. You’ll also learn anchor building and rappelling. This day sharpens your skills ahead of the second summit. Overnight in tents.
06

Summit Day 2

Today we attempt a more technical ascent, graded PD or PD+, depending on conditions. Expect 6–8 hours of movement over rock, snow, and mixed sections. This climb builds confidence and bridges your transition from beginner to intermediate alpine climber. Return to Base Camp for recovery and review.
07

Third Training Day

Our third field training day focuses on advanced skills: self-rescue techniques, hauling systems, and safe movement over steep terrain. You’ll also practice route planning and emergency response procedures. Overnight in tents at Base Camp.
08

Summit Day 3

The final summit day is designed to challenge and consolidate everything you’ve learned. The route will be graded PD+ or higher, depending on group performance and weather. This full-day climb (approx. 7–9 hrs) marks your final ascent of the camp. Return to Base Camp for celebration and reflection.
09

Return to Tbilisi

We break camp and descend back to Juta village. After reaching Stepantsminda, we’ll visit the iconic Gergeti Trinity Church (2,100m / 6,889ft) and continue by vehicle to Tbilisi. A farewell dinner in Pasanauri and a visit to the Ananuri Church along the route round off your alpine training journey. Overnight in Tbilisi.
